The impact of the Pro12Ala genotype of the PPARG gene on the osteoporosis parameters in postmenopausal women

چکیده
Postmenopausal osteoporosis is a systemic skeletal disease characterized by decrease in bone mass and disruption of the microarchitecture, resulting increased fragility. DXA scan (dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry) "gold standard" for diagnosis osteoporosis, while different serum or urine biomarkers are used measurement turnover. PPAR-g belongs to family non-steroid nuclear receptors. It predominantly expressed adipocytes but it could be found osteoblasts. Both types share common precursor cell. Recent studies have indicated important role remodeling. Substitution C G an exon gene coding this protein (PPARG) re-sults Pro Ala amino acid change at position 12, leading decreased transcriptional activity PPARG. The aim our research was deter-mine association between genotype Pro12Ala polymorphism PPARG value measured mineral density (BMD) as well biochemical parameters postmenopausal women. 82 patients with were included study. analysis done polymerase chain reaction restriction fragment length (PCR-RFLP). variant (CG genotype) 14 respondents (17%), Pro12Pro (CC present 68 (83%). There no statistically significant difference BMD values concerning genotype. However, carriers allele (Pro12Ala variant) had significantly higher levels Beta-CTx, marker degradation (p=0.019). women affect Beta-CTx indicating degradation.
